Dylan Michael Bowden (he/him) is an artist and educator based in New York City, currently studying at Columbia University as a Founders’ Scholar and Columbia Collaborate Fellow. He graduated, magna cum laude, as a Presidential Scholar from Rhode Island College and studied acting, musical theatre, and directing at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center. Dylan has worked with colleges and festivals across the country, teaching workshops in Droznin movement and Musical Theatre. Selected teaching credits include: Loyola University (Chicago), Fordham University (Lincoln Center), Brandeis University, Southern Connecticut State University, and Buffalo State University; KCACTF Regions 4, 7, & 8. He was also a fellow of the Kennedy Center’s Institute of Theatre Journalism and Advocacy, where he worked with NPR’s Bob Mondello and the Washington Post’s Chris Klimek. Dylan’s freelance artistry extends further from acting, directing, and teaching, to playing the accordion.

Dylan is a passionate theatre maker who values the work of Eastern European/Jewish theatre and culture. Since he was born, Dylan has been immersed in Eastern European and Jewish culture, specifically of Moldavian and Eastern Ukrainian descent. At seven years old, he began to play the accordion and quickly fell in love with its sound and quality – later becoming an award-winning player in high school. Now, Dylan uses his accordion to perform and write new music deriving from his family’s love for old Soviet and Russian/Ukrainian folk.

Dylan Bowden on accordion [is] utterly astounding at threading Lisa Gutkin & Aaron Halva's rich, authentic score through the show, whether… taking center stage or providing a soundtrack.” — Broadway World
